1854 Washington
State Carriage Barn
View and print measured
drawings of this 1854 combination carriage barn, workshop, woodshed
and storage barn.
Daniel T.
Bigelow Stable, Olympia, Washington
This practical hillside barn
has three levels. The lower level, used as a garage in the 20th
century photo above, was originally planned for horse-drawn
carriages and farm wagons. The middle level, shown in the plan
below, was a workshop and storage area, the third level loft was
for even more storage. The hillside location allowed access,
from grade, to the first two levels.
The plan that you can
print, through the link below, includes three floor plans and
exterior elevations.
Use the link below
to download either 8 1/2 x 11 or larger scale prints.

Bigelow Stable Plan
These plans will print on 8 1/2x11 paper on most computer
printers. Ledger and larger size prints can also be produced
from the same file by using a large format printer. If you don't
have one of those, a copy shop should be able to provide you
with prints.
